Show Qut9 Jteana By STEVE WILLIAMS Wonder if there's still a roof on Brack Lee's house? Couple of days ago we read where the British get a cut in income and other taxes because of the "assistance" they have received or are about to receive from U. S. taxpayers. And the Washington powers that be also announced plans for a big handout to Poland. Is this foreign aid also designed to "halt" the spread of communism? commun-ism? - On another page we publish an article on Government Spending, with some blanks down at the bottom for readers to fill in and mall to Sen. Wat-kins, Wat-kins, Sen. Bennett, and Rep. Dixon. Let's fill 'em in and mail 'em and let our representatives repre-sentatives know exactly how we feel on "foreign aid" and other government spending. And while they're falling all over themselves in Washington to .'aid" foreign nations, the , postal service is being cut here for want of a "mere" 30 millions mil-lions less than half of what we've promised Communist Poland. WANTED Transportation to St. George, Saturday, for about 10 Milford Tigerettes. They will compete in marching and drilling drill-ing formations, with other district dis-trict schools. If they can get there. The athletic department has funds to pay for transportation of athletes, but the Tigerettes ain't got no travel kitty. The gal3 say they'll gladly pay the gas bill, and maybe even buy the driver a coke or hot dog, if some good hearted citizens will volunteer to drive them down so they can compete. Anyone kind enough to take over, please phone Mrs. Gordon Bradshaw, the High School office, of-fice, or Susan Williams. Tongue Twister A group of words lhat get your tangue all longuled up. Russell Mayer, and Mrs. Mayer, May-er, left this week for Durham, N. C, to represent Milford and the State of Utah in the outstanding out-standing young farmer contest sponsored by the Jaycees. Russell won the Milford contest, con-test, then the state contest, and we're all banking on him to be named one of the four National Outstanding Young Farmers. We're still boosting our Milford Mil-ford Volunteer fire department, and a couple of days ago they received a nice, well-deserved ' - letter from C. C. Larkin, superintendent sup-erintendent for the Department of Operation of the Union Pacific, Pacif-ic, thanking them for helping with a fire on one of their trains down at Thermo. The letter said "Your prompt and efficient work resulted in damage from this fire being greatly minimized, and your efforts are appreciated." And the Telluride came in for a back pat, also, with the local lo-cal office receiving a commendation commend-ation from the National Safety Council, congratulating the company for working an entire ryear, without a disabling injury in-jury anywhere on the Telluride system.
