Show THIS WEEK IN MINERSVILLE By EMILY GILLINS Miss Penny Patterson, daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Heber Gi!-lins, Gi!-lins, underwent an operation for removal of a bone growth in St. Marks Hospital in Salt Lake City on Monday, and is getting along fine. Her mother accompanied ac-companied her to Salt Lake. e Harold Baker was in Salt Lake City for several days for medioal observation following a recent back operation. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Seegmil-ler Seegmil-ler spent several days visiting in Minersville with the Harold Baker family. Mr. - Seegmiller has just returned from a two-year two-year mission in Texas. During his absence Mrs. Seegmiller has been employed in St. George and Salt Lake City by the Milne Truck Co. Gerald plans to enter en-ter the U Of U for the spring quarter. Mr. and Mrs. Newell Carter and Mrs. Pauline Carter were in Salt Lake City recently. While there Mrs. Carter spent several days visiting her sister, Mrs. Martha Walker, in Murray. Mrs. Renee Eyre is Minersville Miners-ville chairman of the Inter-mountain Inter-mountain Region blood donor program. Assisting her in house to house calls for recruits were Mrs. Helen Davis, Mrs. Bonnie Myers, Mrs. Barbara Carter, and Mrs. Gwen Pryor. Mrs. Eyre stated that with this donation, Obra Myers is eligible to receive re-ceive a gold pin, an award given to those who have donated donat-ed one gallon of blood. Miss Lorna Harris, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stan Harris of Panaca, Nev., who resides with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Goodwin, has been named a candidate 'for Girls State from Minersville. A junior at Beaver High School, Miss Harris Har-ris has an enviable record for scholarship, school participation, participa-tion, musical talent, and a charming personality. She is , sponsored by. the American Legion Auxiliary, Post No. 81. Chairmen were Mrs. Lynnea Marshall and Mrs. Elinor Roberts. Rob-erts. Mrs. Emily Dotson was a visitor visit-or in Salt Lake City for several days last week. Jimmie Carter, 3 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Newell Carter, observed his birthday on Friday. Fri-day. .A lovely party was given to which the following were invited: Faye and April Dotson, Dickie and Kathy Davis, Jackie and Bryant Davis and Lynnette Davis. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Haycock, a brother," and Mr. and Mrs. James Eyre, were week end visitors in Las Vegas. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Albrec'nt are parents of their fourth son, born March 29 at the Beaver County Hospital, and weighing in at 7 lbs. They also have two daughters. Kathy Gillins, daughter of the Wayne Gillinses, celebrated her fifth birthday Saturday afternoon af-ternoon and invited a host of 'friends to her party. Mr. and Mrs. John Williams and family returned Wednesday from a vacation m California. Their baby daughter was cared for during their absence by Mrs. Emma Davis. Mrs. Ilene Gray received word Friday that her mother, Mrs. I. H. Limb, 69, underwent an appendectomy ap-pendectomy in the Dixie Memorial Mem-orial Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Gillins Gil-lins and Susan attended the M-Men M-Men basketball tourney in Pro-vo. Pro-vo. They also visited in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Hunter Gibson were week end visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Goodwin. Good-win. While here, Hunter prepared pre-pared their garden plot for planting. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pryor attended the funeral for Preston Stoddard, in Salt Lake City, last week. Mrs. Lucy Williams, returned to Minersville Monday, after spending three weeks in Salt Lake City getting acquainted with and caring for a new grand child, born to Mr. and Mrs. Don ' Heslington. ...
