Show American Legion Backs JL'olio Immunizations Polio inoculation of all Americans Amer-icans by the end of March, 1957, was urged by the National Rehabilitation Re-habilitation Commisson of the American Legion meeting in Washington, D. C. February 24. The step was strongly supported by the Legion's top-drawer Medical Med-ical Advisory Board, headed by Dr. Winfred Overholser, superintendent super-intendent of St. Elizabeth's hospital hos-pital there. The resolution adopted by the rehabilitation group describes the Salk vaccine as "successful, effective and proven". All levels of the American Legion were urged to "bring this message to the American People," and to 'assist in the completion of this worthy and necessary endeavor" before the beginning of the 1957 polio season. .
