LARK NEWS Diane Reed, Phone 908-J- 1 A daughter was welcomed Friday, May 4, by IMr. and Mrs. Kenton Reed of Lark. The baby was born at Cottonwood Mater-nity hospital. She weighed six pounds and twelve ounces. Lark Lions held their cleanup campaign Tuesday, May 8th. Trucks were sent to pick up rib-bis- h. Lark Ward Relief Society held its literature meeting Tuesday, May 8. Lesson was given by Mrs. Mary Bingham. Next Tuesday, May 15 will be work day. It will le under direction of Mrs. Ruby Knudsen of Copperton who will demonstrate quilting. A party was held Thursday, May 10th in honor of the visiting teachers. All of the Relief Society ladies and their partners were invited. COMMUNITY HOUSE The children and young people of Highland Boy enjoyed a good swim at the Civic Center pool Tuesday night. Senior Youth Fellowship held a business meeting after the swim to complete plans for their annual musicale next Tuesday night. Good program is under-- jway. Tickets and sale of candy and popcorn are for the benefit of the summer camp program. Miss Margaret Stimson, dea-coness at the Community House, 'returned Tuesday night from her vacation in Maine, New York, and Pennsylvania with friends and relatives. Mrs. Jessie Galbraith, former house mother at the Community House, died Sunday, April 29 at the age of 91 dn the Methodist Home at Minneapolis, Minn. Home Guards and Cub Scouts cleaned up the Community House yards Monday afternoon after school. It was a part of the "clean up week program". The children roasted marshmellows and had a good time. ANNUAL MOTHER'S TEA TODAY Annual Mother's day tea spon-sored by the Highland Boy A will be held today, Friday, at 1:00 p.m. at the Highland Boy school. F.ach mother will be spec-ially honored. Special guests will be Mrs. Ethel Evans, retiring president of Jordan P-T- Council; Mrs. Sue Ogawa. Council representa-tive, and Mrs. Bernice Birkin-sha-new Council president. The latter will install next year's P-T- A officers. Refreshments will be served. Highland Boy A in coop-eration with the Community House will show films of past Galena days at the House to-night, Friday, at 7:00 p.m. The public is cordially invited. IMr. and Mrs. Isadore Chavez and family of Kearns were Sun-day and (Monday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Adonais Gutierrez. Mary Filler of Rifle, Colo., is spending a few days visiting her cousin, Mrs. Sam Martinez and family. Mrs. Joe Rakich left last Sat-urday for Nevada City, Calif., to attend the funeral of her brother in law, Peter Barach. She re-turned home Wednesday after-noon. Monday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Keysaw and family were Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth King and son Ronnie. Mrs. Pina Azzelio visited Wed-nesday with Mrs. George Massa. Upper Bingham School held their annual school trip last Fri-day. University of Utah was of much interest to the fourth, fifth and sixth graders, while the finst, second and third graders journeyed to the Purity Biscuit Co. Later, during the day, they met at Liberty Park and enjoy-ed rides, etc. !
