Show TRACK VICTORY: Last Friday the Weber track team deeated the Westminster track team by a score of 70 and 13 to 56 and 23. Weber won first place in 11 out of 15 events. This victory will serve as an indication of Weber's ability to all the junior colleges in the Rocky Mountains that are to compete for the track championship at the Ogben stadium on May 5. Don Kincaid was high point man of the meet, winning first place in the century and pole vault and second place in the low hurdles. He also ran in the winning 880 yard relay team. Steve Rushforth was second high man with 11J4 points. Verne Williams and Glen Ballard each won first place in two events. The present Weber track team is the best balanced squad that has represented Weber for many years . WeDer's next meet is the B. Y. U. relays, April 28. While the track team was wi""!" '- -,et, the varsity tennis team repeated last week's 3-2 victory over Westminster, The second team lost, 2-3, but improved by winning two more matches than it did last week. Resul ts : Ralph Clark-Frank Tolhurst lost to Wolfrom-Peterson, 6-2, 2-6, 6-3. Stan Benson-Jim Sunbquist def. Wheatlake-Lund, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4. Clark lost to Peterson, 6-3, 2-6, 6-3. Paul Ilarames def. Ball, 6-1, 5-7, 6-1. Tolhurst def. Wheatlake, 6 3, 6-4. GIRLS' TENNIS: The girl's tennis tournament has been well worth watching. Mighty players have been downed and downed again, dark horses have bleached considerably, and it has all been very, very hot. To be explicit, on the third round of the girl's tennis tournament Geneva Farr defeated Dora Bundy, 64, 60 ; Helen Parm-ley defeated Barbara Jones, 60 , 61 ; Janet Fife defeated Alice Malan, 62, 62. In one week the girls completed two rounds and part of a third. What speed! o SOCIOLOGICAL ACTIVITIES: The sociology club recently elected the following officers to serve during the spring quarter: Dave Welling, president; Mary Thomas, secretary. Sociology majors and club members are holding a party at Pineview April 25, Those wishing to attend ma make arrangements as soon as possible with the officers. Members of the club plan to visit the state mental hospital at Provo where they wll study the sociological conditions. INCIDENTALLY: Golf is not a major sport at Weber, but it has deen adopted as a part of the physical education program. In one of the best played matches last Monday, John Mathieu won fifty cents from Bill Alsup over 18 holes.
