Beetiejuice was poorly portrayed as a moaning "Night of the Living Dead" freak. The actor's favorite scary line was, "Hey." The house got boring fast. The moment customers enter this show, they are bombarded with settings with intricate details that no other haunted house has produced. Customers wait in line in a graveyard environment while they watch out for actors who impersonate roaming zombies and automated corpses who launch out from the graves. Thursdays through Saturdays have live dance performances on mausoleum-type stages. Customers waiting in line get live interaction and live entertainment, wliich makes for a fresh wait in line every visit. They don't memorize lines given by robots and aren't bored by seeing the same thing over and over. Before anyone enters the house, the element of sound takes control. In fact, there's not a single room inside the house • that lacks a quality sound playing in the background. Everyone is greeted by a dark butler who captivates customers' attention with grisly ghost stories about what lies within the house. Rocky Point actors are the main reason this house haunts in a league of its own. Every room has an actor uniquely cast for a given room. One of the most unsettling rooms is in "The Lord of the Rings" section of the house. As customers crawl through low caves and watery marshes, they may find themselves face to face with an amazing likeness of Gollum peering down at them from a high crevice. The house is loaded with various types of mazes. Clowns and actors dressed in black try their best to lead customers astray. In addition, floors may disappear from beneath customers feet, other floors move and others spin. Psychotic clown murals leer at customers trying to stand up straight in a hallway. An actor heckles overhead and reaches down to give the customers a reason to stay closer to the ground. Vampires fly over customers. « Urgent news for people -who took Senior Health Insurance Agents e6 prejudices are by telling all the bad, even evil tilings short people do. It goes so far that you can easily see how all kinds of stereotyping soon gets out of hand and doesn't have to be based on facts at all. The song is like a very short (pun intended, I guess) medieval morality play." Choir students favor a wide variety of music. "The fact that you get to sing such an array of different kinds of music, and you're not stuck on just one type," said Michelle Anderson, a WSU choral education junior. "We have fun. It's always good to come and hear fun music and Henderson's a goofball." While some students are in both choirs, each choir has its own unique sound and personality. "In chamber choir, we get to do a littie more difficult stuff, which is fun because of the challenge and sometimes it's more beautiful," Conner said. "But concert choir is also beautiful because there are lots of voices." Unfortunately, attendance has come up short in past years. "Please come; we work so hard and not enough people come," Anderson said. WSU choir concerts generally feature something for everyone. "It's like attending a living museum of the music of the last five centuries," Henderson said. "There is something for every taste and choral works are generally short, so if you don't care for something, just wait a minute and we'll do something quite different." Cost is $3.50 for students and $4.50 for the rest of the community. You can leave a message for reporter Nikki Garrett by calling 626-7105. In some instances, it was difficult to believe there was really an actor under the makeup. In addition to the haunted house section, Rocky Point offers an extra mirror maze that baffles many minds and keeps people lost for long periods of time. The only problem 1 could find with the show came when we entered the chainsaw room. After being heckled by a witty southern-tongued actor, as Leatherface stepped out with his chainsaw, we couldn't help notice the chainsaw sounded really weak. It was almost inaudible. No worries though; there was another surprise waiting just around the corner. This house made me jump, and that hasn't happened in nearly 10 years. Don't miss this one.
