Yes, the long anticipated return of those ghostbusting heroes of the silver screen have arrived. The original ghostbusting squad have returned and with refreshing additions. The reuniting of directorproducer Ivan Reitman and the writing team of Aykroyd- Ramis prove hilarious entertainment is a spiritual experience for the summer viewing audience in their sequel of Ghostbuster II. Five years have passed since the day of judgment. During this time the ghostbusting team have fell on hard times financially. The results, the ghostbusters are forced to pursue individual careers. Dr Peter Venkman (Bill Murray) has his own talk show dealing with the psychic phenomena. Ray Stantz (Dan Aykroyd) and Winston Zeddemore ( Ernie Hudson) have sunk to the level of entertaining children at Birthday parties. Finally, the ghostbuster brain Egon Spongier (Harold Ramis) has returned to his research on pschomagnetics. Dana Barrett's (Sigourner Weaver) marries having a child. Eventually this relationship ends leaving her single once more. During this period of time, New York City has been experiencing a surge of negative energy in the form of slime below the city streets. This allows the form of a demonic spirit from the 17th century to return by means of a painting within the city art museum. The spirit attempts to return by taking upon him the body of a child and reintroducing his evil kingdom to the world. Dana's becomes concerned when peculiar events of the supernatural occur around her and her baby son Oscar. Seeking the help of her old friends reunites the team for the ultimate challenge that confronts good and evil in a hilarious comedy of errors and romance. If you are expecting the ghostbuster humor of the original,be advised this may be disappoint you. The movie develops the characters further and more indepth however, there are times of boredom waiting for the picture to develop. The chemistry between the characters is witty and humorous . I found the movie enjoyable and worth a second viewing. Who do you call?
