Roylance, the daughter of Paul and Linda Roylance, attended Bountiful High School. She was a State Sterling Scholar runner-up in speech and drama, won the DAR South Western States Division Good Citizen Award, was selected as a state finalist for the Elk's "Most Valuable Student" award, was a junior statesman summer school delegate at Georgetown University and received the Bountiful High Achievement in Excellence Award, which is the top honor given by the school for scholastic performance, service to school and community, and citizenship. Roylance was a member of the debate (cont'd from front page) and forensics team, the drama team, mock trials, the Shakespearean Troupe, the musical production company, the National Honor Society, the Xela Show Choir and participated in school plays. She was a Girl's State Supreme Court Justice, Junior Statesman of America president, and has volunteered for the Muscular Dystrophy Association for four years and the Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition for three years. She served on Senator Orrin Hatch's Youth Advisory Committee and worked as a public opinion pollist.
