Janette Reimschussel Talent of the Year Janette has made many behind-the-scenes contributions to WSC theater including stage manager, electrician and make-up designer as well as numerous awards for excellence as an actress and was named as a semi-finalist ofr the prestigious "Irene Ryan Acting Award'' for 1986. She is a soloist with the Concert Choir, a member of Choralition and the Weber State Singers. She is also a member of the ChamBer Strings group and the WSC Symphony Orchestra. Janette has been accepted to the University of Utah School of Medicine. Rodney Miller Wildcat Achievement Rodney is a leader in the Physically Challenged Student Organization and a member of the Non-traditional Student Area Council. He has worked with the Wilderness Recreation Center to create an adapted sports program for physically challenged students. He is successfull in academics, family relationships, peer relations and community involvement. M II FEATURED ARTIST "Mighty" Max Weinberg plays "Gospel John," "St. Thomas" (a duet with WSC drummer Rob Clifford) and "Council Grove Grove" at Saturday's Crystal Crest Awards Ceremonies. PAMFXA PARKINSON iooks surprized as she wins the 19X" rrvs'al Crest Woman of the Year Award. Parkinson will be attending the University of Utah School of Law next fall. SPECIAL AWARD WINNER, Toni Weight gets a big hug from Joni Burger, 1986-87 ASWSC vice president for activities, services and organization, for all of her work in dealing with students. C. SCOTT BAXTER wins Man of the Year for 1987. Baxter was the 1986-87 ASWSC vice president for academics and administration. Baxter will be attending the University of Chicago's graduate school of business. ORGANIZATION OF THE YEAR, the Weber State Singers, perform at Crystal Crest themed "All That Jazz." Pamela D. Parkinson Woman of the Year Pam Parkinson returned to school at age 38 with an eight-year-old son and completed her B.S. degree in seven quarters. She took between 19 and 26 credit hours per quarter and maintained a major GPA of 3.85. She is active in the state Democratic Party, the YWCA and is an officer of three separate scholastic honorary societies. C. Scott Baxter Man of the Year Scott has been the 1986-87 ASWSC vice president for academics and administration. He has also won numerous awards in executive decision making, employment interviewing, impromptu speaking and parliamentary procedure. He has been accepted to the University of Chicago and has received a substantial scholarship to that institution. Gene A. Sessions Master Teacher Dr. Sessions is the author of four books and numerous other publications and has introduced four new courses to the WSC curriculum. He was the first user of computerized testing service, computerized a CRE and LSAT preparation program, and developed a study guide system for the "America" film series. He has procured nearly $20,000 in private endowment monies and has reponded to numerous requests for speeches and workshops. Anna B. Gunnarsson "Joseph F. Breeze" Athletic Achievement Anna went undefeated during the 1986 tennis season. Winning 24 victories including several over nationally-ranked players led to a Mountain West Athletic Conference singles and doubles championship and designation as the first "MWAC Tennis Player of the Week." As a Swedish citizen, Anna has overcome the difficulties with a chemistry major and a math minor with a 3.2 GPA. Brian D. Cunningham Scholar of the Year Brian completed an economics major at WSC with a 3.99 GPA, never having received a grade lower than an A-. He is on the School of Business and Economics Area Council, is a married student and a Boy Scout leader. Toni W. Weight Special A ward Toni Weight has been Associate Dean of Students, Acting Director of the Counseling Center and Dean of Students. She has done numerous workshops, seminars and professional papers at national student affairs conferences. She has also worked on new programs such as Women's Educational Resource Center, "Putting Spouse Through Program," ASWSC leadership training and Crystal Crest Awards.
