Softball team claims victories Despite windy conditions and cooler than average weather, the Weber State Lady Wildcats' Softball team combined for doubleheader victories on Wednesday against in-state rival BYU. Weber used the efforts of three pitchers in winning the two games. Freshman Cristie Creamer pitched half the first game, with Teena Allen taking over the second half, as the women won the game 5-3. In the second game of the doubleheader, Tammie Etterlein took the mound as Weber's pitcher. BYU was only allowed two hits in this game as Weber ' upped their record to 8-15 with the 2-0 victory. Ida Lievanos, a senior and captain on the team from Fountain Valley, California, said, "We needed to win those two games. It was important to get our spirit back and build our confidence up again." Lievanos felt that their performance in the Texas A & M Invitational Softball. Tournament, in which they placed fifth, was a factor in the team getting back on the winning track.
