AA Lifetime Distributors ISA banquet success Contrary to the old adage, "Too many cooks spoil the broth," the fare dished up by the International Students Association (ISA) in the Weber State College Union Ballroom Saturday night was superb. The specialities, prepared by students from 12 different countries, was exotic, and often enhanced by rare spices sent from the homeland. The banquet, a yearly event, was a fantastic success as evidenced by the over-400 attendance registered. The format not only featured gourmet cuisine, but an exhibit of costumes, native crafts and artifacts from the various countries: Saudi Arabia, Philippines, India, Nigeria, Iran, Libya, and Turkey. To make the evening a triple-header, the ISA featured their own unique brand of student entertainment, people from the various countries "doing their tlg." Raj Kumar, Communications teacher at WSC, welcomed the international students. "This is a meeting place with freedom of speech and expression, but don't forget your heritage and the homeland. Learn about this country, and take what's best back with you," he advised. Saudi Arabians in native garb and headgear did aft all-male rendition of a song for sweethearts using a domback (Persian drum) as an accompaniment. Emcee was S.M. Faruk from East Bengal, who sang an American song accompanied by Ettei Cabamash of Zaire strumming a guitar. A modern American dance was followed by a Persian folk dance in which Teimoor Alimadadi was the singer while Hagahi Hassand and Ali Dezham danced. Jamshid Hajimomen of Iran, the President of the USA, noted there are 72 different countries represented at WSC. "Isn't this wonderful. Why don' t we keep this peace all the time music, dancing, and singing together." Come into our store for free consumer information about buying diamonds. y,. ,...Tr .ww"."
