Its range of involvement extends into such areas as machine tool, industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering and some aspects of automotive manufacturing and electronics. The field of its curriculum covers all of these related areas except automotive manufacturing, and it sometimes works in conjunction with other Utah college chapters in planning activities. Linda Rae Adams registered with the Placement Center and this year is occupying the spot of a half-time business education teacher in one of the Weber District schools.. Each month the SME invites a guest, who is involved in new and interesting trade fields, to speak at its meetings. The SME's yearly seminar will be held Nov. 30 with the theme "Future Trends in Manufacturing."All engineering people in the state attend and field professionals are the speakers.
