"The war against war is going to be no holiday excursion or camping party," he wrote, "the military feelings are too deeply grounded to abdicate their place 00 Enters Collegiate Meet i Weber State College's rodeo club is among the 170 contestants competing in the National Collegiate Rodeo Association finals this week at St. George. Some 82 member schools including Weber State, Brigham Young University, University of Utah and Dixie Jr. College, are participating in this year's rodeo which ends Saturday. Leading the scoring after preliminary rounds of competition were completed Wednesday were A. C. Ecker of the University of Utah and Phil Lyne of Southwest Texas Junior College. Ecker scored 61 points in two events to 60 points scored by Lyne. Six men's events were scored that evening including bareback, saddle bronc, calf roping, steer wrestling, ribbon roping and bull riding. Girls competed in barrel racing and goat tying. All competitors will have one try in each event entered tonight, with the 10 best in each event competing Saturday for the national championships. A total of 10 individual champions will be crowned - - six in the men's events and two in the women's competition - with a-wards also presented to the top individual performer in both classes.During early preliminary standings Wednesday, Casper College of Wyoming was leading in team points with Mesa Community College in second place. Also favored to win is California Polytechnical Institute at San Luis Obisco and Southwest Texas Junior College. Dixie College was selected Tuesday at the site for the 1968 National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association tournament. James' substitute was to be an army conscripted for war against poverty, ignorance and disease. James' proposal was never tried, the idea of conscription for other than national defense being especially repugnant to Americans, but from time to time the government has sponsored programs of a type which contained aspects of James' peace army. In fact, one such program came into being even before James' Peace Congress address.
