By this route St. George would receive its northern mail eighteen hours earlier than is received over the present route. We are informed that petitions, praying pray-ing for a continuance of the present Service, have been forwarded to the postal authorities at Washington from Parowan. Panguitch. Paragoona. l.iea-v.'r, l.iea-v.'r, and other places, which if we are correctly informed would account for the delay of a reply to the petition asking ask-ing for a change. We are also informed inform-ed tii.it, the p'-ople of Cedar City have a petition in circulation praying for the pro;io-.-,l change, and, as it would make such a groat difference eighteen hour- in tiu' time of arrival and departure de-parture of mails here, we believe a petition should also be gotten up by the tv(.j..v vt St. George. |
