Show FOR GOLD STANDARD. Republican Caucus Committee's Bill l'ro-vides l'ro-vides for Gold Basis. Chicago, Sept. 23. Congressman Joseph Jo-seph W. Babcock of Wisconsin, a member mem-ber of the Republican caucus financial committee which this summer drew up a financial bill, said last night: "The bill agreed upon by the committee com-mittee and to be introduced at the next session is in my possession. It provides for a formal declaration in favor of the gold standard. If it becomes be-comes a law, the country will be avowedly avow-edly and explicitly upon the gold.basis. The senate committee has not yet concurred, con-curred, but there will be no practical difficulty between the commiitees of the two houses. The bill is likely to pass both houses." |
