Harmon Plafcn has been chosen end set apart as superintendent of our Sunday Sun-day school, tilling' the vacancy made by his brother, John Hafen. Last week we witnessed one of the bifrg'est Hoods known for years in the Santa Clara Creek. Very little dam-ape dam-ape was done: one of the St. George ditch dams was washed out. Some of the people got their land irrigated pretty well, besides which the bed of the creek got a thorough cleaning making- the water more lit lor culinary purposes. Conrad Naegle has gone to Br.nkcr-ville Br.nkcr-ville on a visit. Samuel Reber, Sr., of Santa Clara, has been here on a visit. Weather warm and dry, but very agreeable as we have plenty of shade trees. The Fourth of July was a little dry owing to so many of our people going to other places, but we will have a verv good time on the "2 tth. Elders Jacob Frei and John Graf of Santa Clara passed through here as home missionaries, and expect to hold meetings here on their return. Our crops thus far are very gooti, as we have plenty of water to irrigate with and a little' to spa -e. Third cutting cut-ting of lucerne being stacked, worms have damaged it considerably. Ore pes and melons are ripening fast. The cotton crop looke very favorable. OVKKTON. I. to V. Perkins has Lome to Hioville. Bert Mills took the stage for While Kills Friday morning. Bishop Jones and Mrs. S. A. Angel returned from Salt Lake City this week. The young people had a very pleasant pleas-ant dance on the eveningof the 14th hist.
