Page located the Copper King Xo. 5, in the Bull Valley District, on the 51 h inst. and recorded the same here on the -th. Captain Adam Paul arrived here from Salt Lake City Saturday last on' mining business. He left for Bunkcr-ville Bunkcr-ville to examine the copper proposition there Thursday, An elegant piece of copper ore weighing weigh-ing 30 lbs, and which averages about 58 per cent copper, is on exhibition at. John Pymm's store. It is from the Apex mine' in the Dixie group. D. P.. Page and K. R, Pag-e located the Copper King Xo. 3 on the 4th inst., and the Copper King Xo. fi'on the 5th inst. These claims are in the Bull Valley district, and were recorded here Tuesday. R. G. Page and D. R. Page located the Copper King Xo. 4 on the 4th inst., the Copper King Xo. 8 on the Gth inst., and the Copper King Xo. 12 on the 22nd inst. These claims are in Bull Valley and were recorded he-re Tuesday. John S. Ferris returned from Bull Valley last Saturday bringing with him a number of samples of ore from that rich region. Mr. Ferris has been prospecting pros-pecting out there for some time. He left for his home at Bellevtte the same evening'. Albert Hartman and party, returned from their prospecting trip Tuesday. Mr. Hartman has located what he be lieves to be an excellent gold claim near Scanlon's Ferry, and has left a man there to work it until cooler weather when Mr. Hartman will re- turn. D. R. Page, R. G. Page and R, R. Page located the Copper King No. 1 claim on the 3rd inst.. Copper King No. 2 on the 4th inst. , Copper King No. 7 on the 0th inst., Copper King No. 9, Copper King No. 10, and Copper King No. 11 on the 22nd inst. These claims are on tho west side of Blue Mountain in the Bull Valley district. They were recorded here on the 27th inst. Will E. Terhuae, an assayer from the Highland Boy smelter, and C. W. Johnson, an engineer of Salt Lake City, arrived from Modena Thursday having been engaged to work at the Dixie mines. They went out with Mgr. W. W, Old Friday morning The Dixie mining Co. are now running two shifts of twelve hours each. Mr. Terhune will have charge of the smelter and will run the day shift, while S. L. Adams, Sr., will run the night shift. Mr. Johnson will have charge cf the engine. Twenty-eight hands are now employed at the mine, and this number will shortly be increased. About 300 tons of ore is on the ground ready for the smelter and this quantity is being-daily being-daily increased. |
