Dear Brother: Ever since I received the first copy of the best paper in the world that is in my esb'mitioii 1 have felt like thanking you for your kindness. One of my mottoes mot-toes is-: "To be grateful is one of the greatest gifts of God," audi hope you will excuse me for not thanking you be .re. I. was pleased to see that my two dear brothers. Robert and John, have shewn by their works that they have an interest in you and your paper, and in .-he best country in the world, by subscribing for and helping out an industry in-dustry that should have the support of evi i v man in St. George and Washington Washing-ton county; and every man that ever lived there, for they must remember that faith without works is dead, and the editor is like the brother and sister that were destitute, for if you give him no' those things that are needful to make a success of his paper, that is so we'eomc to Erin's green isle, what does it profit'? How is that for bible talk'? Oh, say 1 If you could only see Bro. Knell and I when the Washington C'OCXtY NEWS comes. The Elders say one would think to see us that we had found a Klondike. Some say: "Why does lie mention every little thing in his paper?" Because every little thing cornea from God, and we are grateful for them. By the way, do yon remember remem-ber telling about a little girl, or a little hoy, coming to town and the mother and child doing well and the father wit; king on stilts'? Some think there, is no use mentioning things like that, but that, kind of talk just suits me, for I am working hard to bring souls to Christ, ami I fee! like saying, God bless the mothers of Israel in such a noble work as bringing souls to Christ. Again, some say there is no use mentioning such things as making sorghum, they would rather hear of a gold mine, but Ju."job and his sons were pleaded to hivn-that hivn-that there was corn in Egypt. We must not let our minds soar too high, but alwuya be glad to think it Is good news when the W, O. N, records gonri cotton and sorghum crops, and that the Lord is permitting the soil to yield abundantly. I would have liked to have had time to give you a little about. Erin's green isle, Pat and the pig, and praties and the shillalah, but time will not permit at this writing. I have had a good time so far, and am in the best of health. Bro. Knell joins me in sending love to all enquiring enquir-ing friends we are. all the same as one. The Gospel is true and I know it, and I trust it will endure to the end. I remain your true friend.
