Samuel Miles, Jr., entertained a party of his friends Thursday evening. John S. Ferris passed through this city Monday enroute to the Bull Valley mining fields. The total amount subscribed for John Eardley, Jr., and family, wno suffered loss by fire last week, was $157.75. The January mining claim, in the Harrisburg mining district, was located on the 1st inst. by James G. Wilder. The Huntley mining claim, in the Harrisburg mining district, was located on the 1st inst. by William Huntley and James G. Wilder. Mrs. Press Lamb of Deer Lodge, Nevada, is here visiting her father, our venerable postmaster John Pymm, and her children who are attending school here. The Provo Enquirer states that four young Kanab Indians passed thru Provo recently enroute to the Teller Institute, the Indian school at Grand Junction, Colorado. Ed. 1M. Brown and Andrew Sorren-son Sorren-son returned from the Cunningham mine Sunday, having left a force of men at work there. They report the mine looking excellent. Col. H. B. Pickett arrived here Saturday Sat-urday from Salt Bake, and went. out to the Savanac mine Monday. He took out four hands with him and intends sinking a shaft on the ore body, taking out ore and shipping it. It is rumored that Jean F. Webb made a part payment to secure the Paymaster mine before he left here. This paper has been unable up to the hour of going to press to ascertain whether it is true or not. A surprise party was given at the home of Joseph Judd Thursday evening by a number of their friends previous to leaving this city for Nevada where Mr. J udd and family will remove to in a few days. Manti Messenger. Robert C. Lund and James Maefarlane Maefar-lane of the Horse Shoe and Homestake mines at Deer Bodge, left for that Nevada Ne-vada camp last night, and before returning re-turning will have started work on the new mill with which the season is to open. Tribune. Joseph Price came in from Modena yesterday and intends leaving today for his mining property south of here to prosecute work on it. Victor Hunt-zicker, Hunt-zicker, D. C. Williams, Walter Kemp, and William Kemp will with Mr. Price make up the working party. Mr. Huntzicker has purchased an intesest in the property. |
