Show . M - v TO Pleasant Farewell Gathering. About fit) of the friends of Hon. Edward H. Snow and wife met at the handsome residence of that esteemed couple on Thursday evening in honor of Bro. Snow, who leaves on Saturday for the mission field. The affair was intended as,a surprise, but Bro, Snow got, wind of the intentions of his friends and was prepared for them. Singing, and plenty of it, made the time pass very pleasantly until 11 p. m., when picnic was served, after which singing, reciting, etc., occupied the time until 1 a. m., when the happy participants departed for their homes. The affair was a very happy one, and the pleasant, smiling faces of Bro. and Sister Snow-attested Snow-attested to their appreciation of the occasion. Bro. Edward H. Snow has always been an active and valuable member of our community. For eleven years he has held the position of stake tithing clerk with honor to himself and the office, he having been publicly thanked at stake conference for his efficient labors. He was one of the bishop's counselors for this ward: was teacher of Dept. B of the S. S. Theological class, and was also one of the district school trustees. In the latter position he has labored indefatigably for the advancement advance-ment of educational matters, one of his dearest wishes being to see the new school building completed. As a political worker he has been among the foremost in the county of recent years. As a Democrat, which he always has been, he represented the 11th Senatorial district in the State Legislature, earning the gratitude of his constituents for his labors. He leaves "for his second mission with the best wishes of a whole host of warm-hearted friends, with whom The News joins in wishing him a successful success-ful mission. ! tm |
