Show From the Savanac. Col. H. L. Pickett returned from the Savanac mine last Saturday. When seen by our reporter Mr. Pickett said that everything at the Savanac was looking splendid. "We are down about thirty feet," said the Colonel, "and expect ex-pect to market another car of high-grade high-grade ore this month; teams will leave St. George for the ore next week, and it is of the same high quality as that previously shipped. We are now sinking sink-ing a shaft on the main vein." The Colonel then asked how the election had gone, and upon hearing the vote of Washington County, he said: "I rejoice re-joice to know that Washington County, the banner Democratic county of tiie State rolled up such a good majority for King." When asked who he thought would, be the next Governor of this State, he replied: "I consider no man in the State more qualified than Hon. R. C. Lund. He is well and favorably-known favorably-known thruout the State, is a very conservative man, and one who has always worked well and faithfully for his party. I believe he will lead the Democratic ticket by a large majority. " Mr. Pickett left for return to Salt Lake Sunday. |
