WONDERING GIRL wasatch ut 1 wondering girl the sister whose birthday is march 21 was wa 8 born on thursday the one of june 6 was born on friday and you arrived on monday 2 1 I rather think the complexion has little to do with whether or not you should marry a certain person it is more a question as to whether or not you love a man and what his disposition and characteristics are than what corn com alexion he has BILL tooele thoele utah we are in debated to an idaho reader bill for an other of your songs and as several readers have contributed other verses verse to little brown jug I 1 will add them WILD ROVER 1 I ve played the wild rover for many a year and spent all my money tor for whiskey and beer but now III quit roving and lay up in store for I 1 never will play the wild rover her to trust me but her an awer was nay I 1 have plenty of customers like you every day put my hand in my pocket and from it I 1 drew A handful of money on the counter I 1 threw and then I 1 got liquors and wines of the best bet and the landlady told me she was only in lest jest III go home to my parents and regret rep et what I 1 ve done and ask them to pardon their prod gal son and it if they will do tt it as they ve oft done before I 1 nver never will play the wild rover no more LITTLE BROWN JUG when I 1 go tolling toiling to m my y farm I 1 take little brown jug under my am aw a m w your answers so much will you please answer these few questions tor for me 1 does face cream cold cream etc encourage the growth of superfluous bair calr on face 2 how old do you think I 1 am arn by my writing 7 BLUE EYES utah 1 no blue eyes you need not be afraid of cold creams growing hair on the face every ingred ent which could promote the growth of hair Is elim from facial creams today but I 1 a advise that you use care in selecting your creams and toilet articles as you hould should use only the best preparations on your skin 2 1 I should imagine you ere are about sixteen judging from your writing you write quite nicely and practice will help you to write still better thank you dear miss brooks V N ish you would tell me which one of these girls makes the best wife no I 1 Is ing school the scholars worship her and she worships them ie in crazy oer small children and babies and at home Is sociable nice and a good all dear miss brooks I 1 have been very interested in your corner and would like to ask you a puzzling question 1 1 I have been afraid to take part in anything or even read in class many a time would try not to be frightened but somehow I 1 just can t help it I 1 have a very good teacher who tries to encourage me but when I 1 try to read I 1 have to sit down because I 1 am so frightened could you P please lease tell me what to do and how to overcome v this habit thanking you for your trouble I 1 remain A CAT dear little girl I X know just how dit dif bault a thing it Is to overcome your trouble but the only remedy so far around girl very neat very kind to old people not long ago I 1 heard on old lady say what a sweet girl but ehe she Is not popular with the lolly jolly set of boye boys at dances she Is not a wall flower but dai dat ces with the quiet boys she will not let you hold her tight when dancing and I 1 believe bhe shed d kill a fellow if he tried to kiss her she will not talk laugh and be merry in a crowd but al a ways smiling very pleasant around home I 1 don t think she likes anything better than to fuss fuse with children don t know that I 1 can get this one but I 1 might try no 2 Is always jolly and giggling to dance with her makes you think you are in heaven very affectionate don it object to a hug and a kiss never saw her makeover children but Is a butterfly tor for dress likes to go and Is good corn com pany the jolly boys swarm around her and she never misses a dance takes life easy with clenty of time to fl fix up says she a going to learn to cook and keep house one of these days rather good looking but must have her own w way ay know I 1 can get this one tell which one Is best THE MAN IN THE MOON wyoming I 1 just wonder it if the man in the moon wishes advice encouragement or assurance perhaps he just wanted to write a letter so he might see what would Ti happen appen it would seem from your description of these girls tl at it Is not so much advice and encouragement you need as it is assurance assurance that the one you think would make the best wife really would I 1 am not at all sure myself mi self about this one thing I 1 am nm sure of though and that Is I 1 de wholly upon what sort of a man they marry as to whether either of them will make good as a wife and home maker so now my advice to you would be to look within yourself and determine whether or not you have just enough but not too much of the jolly pleasure loving qualities to balance the quiet disposition or enough and not too much of the sober home loving qualities to balance the pleasure loving disposition of the other in order to keep the matrimonial boat from rock ing now have you it if not let some fellow who has these qualities step in for such a disposition Is the only kind that will make for a harmonious home w with ith either girl you describe I 1 do not like your description of number two but number one is a similar type except that she does not believe or in buige in a promiscuous display of her affection or caresses these she holds sacred acred 8 tor for her immediate family until such time as she establishes her own home thereby preserving herself pure modest and undefiled tor for the greatest of all positions that of home maker and mother I 1 think my vote will be for number one but be very sure of yourself before you decide come again if you wish further advice I 1 am ani al w ways ays glad to discuss with you a ques tion of this sort dear miss brooks I 1 have never written to your corner before nevertheless I 1 have been inter ested in just between you and me for over a year I 1 too am asking for some of your advice you have helped others and I 1 am positive you can help me I 1 am a boy 19 years old have been and am still enjoying the company of a girl friend but miss brook brooks some times she is as pleasant as can be and really acts like she thinks lots of me and then other times she is just jus t the opposite I 1 always try to be jolly and and try to respect her do you think there la Is such a thing as trying to be b toe too good to a girl I 1 cant can t recall any act on my part in which I 1 have given her grounds to mistrust me I 1 shall appreciate your kindness if in return you will give me your advice on the matter hoping I 1 am not too much trouble and thanking you in advance AN information SEEKER utah I 1 am very glad to hear from another boy and happy to advise you in so tar far aa as I 1 can but of course I 1 could not tell you how much this girl think thinks of you I 1 do think a boy can be too good to a girl not in the sense that he can treat her too gentlemanly or respect fully but sometimes a boy Is so kind and considerate of a girl that she IM poses on hia his good nature it might not be a bad idea to forget to call her up occasionally or not to go to see her quite so often and in various other ways do not be johnny on the spot quite so 30 regularly you can do this without being impolite and you will soon know just how keenly she feels your neglect dear miss brooks could you please tell roe me who wrote the poem called the unwritten law also when it was copyrighted and if the copyright has expired the first verse of this poem goes something like this don t kid me I 1 know that I 1 rn dying the song of my life has been sung I 1 in done and there a no use trying to mend a bullet torn lung yours truly beautiful a blonde or dark person 2 Is lemon juice good to bleach the hair will it do any harm to your hair and will barm harm it you yours truly BILLY smithfield utah can only answer two of your questions billy and I 1 wl wi I 1 be glad it if you send the rest later 1 1 I think it if a vote could be taken it would probably be a tie as to which were the most beautiful a blonde or brunette as each have about the same number of ad I 1 am sure 2 lemon juice Is not an especially good bleach neither does it do any harm although I 1 would not advise using the pure juice continuously As for the other bleach you mention I 1 would not advise its use tor for while it bleaches the hair and does no particular harm it Is a very difficult thing to keep it dyed as it grows out in tact fact it cannot be done at all satis fact facto orlly rily without streaking the hair and once you peroxide the hair you have a continual and everlasting effort before you for no other treatment can be used on it with any degree of satisfaction so my dear be happy and satisfied with your hair as it Is for I 1 am sure it Is more becoming to you than any dyed or bleached hair could be j I 1 dear miss brooks j
