rain fell in torrents and in a short time the water was run ning in streams considerable dam age was done to our town ditch it seems to have been more severe on the santa clara bench there was a wind storm which did consid erable damage to leo reber s house it blew in part of the south gable wall tore off one fourth of the root and carried it across the comer corner of his lot lodging it on the opposite side of fhe the street against the fence the wind and hall did considerable damage to corn and other crops the fourth of july was celebrated about as usual there was a dance the evening of son of enter prise has been here visiting relatives ROCKVILLE rockville july 9 on the ahe night of the 4 of july joe hirschi hirschl lost his home and granary it being burned about 2 0 clock at night the clos est neighbors noticed a bugh light at his place went to look and found his granary too tar far gone to sae there was a tank of gasoline in the granary which exploded and set his bouse house on fire all went before any one could do anything he saved his auto cupboard and table but was without shoes hat and bed when morning came joe thinks the fire started from dropping a cigarette joseph
