Show 91 no 91 county farm farin bureau will incorporate s tat t early Date Good Attendance Big success the farm bureau dixie normal college roundup round up was a very successful event not from the fact that a great number of farmers and stockmen stoc kmen attended but because of the unity of purpose and general good feeling manifest by all who did attend this was especially true at hurricane where the attendance was large and the interest keen iteen the project of incorporating the farm bureau to enable it to do business bustness on a business basis is now as both convener conven conventions tr ons unanimously adopted the plan and approved the articles of incorporation that had been previously prepared with a few minor changes recommended for or consideration A board of seven directors was appointed to officer the farm bureau and put the plan over john H geo goo brooks jr and fred A reber were appointed to represent st george and vicinity morris wll wilo eon son john sanders and david hirschl were appointed at the hurricane meeting enterprise Is to appoint one member to represent the west side of the county these men med will organize and plan a campaign for membership and stock subscription immediately the greatest aim of this tion Is to put machi machinery dery in motion to market our farm produce and live stock and encourage the development of new projects for which dix le Is especially adapted such as fig grape dairy and poultry culture individual men have failed la in these things because they could not buck the market alone klone but with a unified county organization carefully managed and financed to look after the marketing problem it will leave the individual free to produce more an and d insure safety in the development of new projects we ave must reach out operatively cooperatively co as its the rest of the world is doing for fifty years wd have worked individually vidu illy with no results but the cutting of each others throats in a business way WELY 0 it Is with much pleasure that we inform tha those se who were not at the convention that the dixie normal college has taken up the work with the farm bureau in the development of these new projects the college proposes to place piled pure vre bred chicks into the hands of its students and farmers this spring they will employ men to direct and assist in the care card and culture of those chicks during the summer months when these chicks begin to lay jay eggs dixie will get a few of the million dollars that are sent out of the state of utah each year tor for poultry products get behind the movement all agreed that farm bureau work must go on with the very doubtful prospect of getting at another iother county agen agent every one must get behind the movement with some individual interest and responsibility the subjects discussed were ably introduced by the following men bishop D 0 Hi hirache bishop morris wilson bp E it frel frei judge D H morris vasco al tanner john ti woodbury sr A lu woodbury and fred A reber musical numbers were furnished at at bt st george by the dixie normal college at hurricane fay by the music department of the hurricane public scho school olia |
