| Show FORMER SERVICE MEN SHOULD REU THIS A bulletin entitled new provisions for compensation and medical and surgical care and supplies under the war risk act and officially listed as LD 30 Is announced by director R G jones of the bureau of war risk insurance as ready for distribution the circular which Is addressed to former service men and a copy of which may be obtained from the bureau of war risk insurance seta forth the warning that a certificate of injury from the bureau within one year from the date of discharge or resignation Is necessary to preserve for compensation on the part of anyone who received injury or contracted disease while in the service to quote the bulletin no compensation pensa tion la payable unless the alsa death can be traced to an in jury ob a disease incurred in the service many persons however have received injuries or contracted disease in the service and the effects there of do not appear until some time after their discharge or resignation it the disability resulting from the injury or disease contracted in the bervice does not occur before one year after discharge or resignation you may be unable to obtain compera for the law provides that when such disability or death occurs as shown by the medical evidence after one year after your discharge a certificate of injury must have been obtained from the director of the bureau within the year from the date of your discharge in order that the government may pay you or your dependents pen dents it you aare injured or contracted disease while in the service even though the injury or disease was of a minor character be sure to apply tor a certificate of injury before one year after the date of your discharge or resignation in order to protect yourself and your dependents act now t do not fall ta get this certificate it you sustained injury or disease in the service which even though it may not bother you now may become aggravated hereafter apply to the nearest district supervisor of the public health service or write to the chief medical advisor bureau of war risk insurance washington D giving your full name serial number and organization and rank at the time of discharge or resignation the compensation and insurance claims division of the bureau has approved claims for campea on account of disability through service and now is malting payments thereon each to the extent of |
