Show A HIKE OVER THE HILLS inday morning dawned bright and clear this made the seventh grades hippy beyond measure for on this day they had planned a nature trip at nine prompt we started on our long hard journey when on the dugway dug way of the black hill avest of tonn we gave a last salute to the town by singing the hunting sone we had come prepared to but our teacher said we had to go over the top most point instead of going by way of the dug way anum ber of the girl were PO tired before reaching the top that they had to hae help up to the first landing when on top of the hill we enjoyed a rest then all set to work catching insects a few of the boys captured a number of centipede centi we again took up our burdens of lunch baskets note book and pencil and began our ander much refresh ed by our rest over the top of the hill we went and don on the other side we thought it aa hard work to climb but we soon came to the conclusion that going down a rocky steep vis far worse our knees knocked together our ankles went pop and time after time we were on the verge of having our necks broken I 1 tell you we were glad to reach le el ground agim and rest our bruised and tired feet on the soft cool lucern of the santa clara field at noon we ate a hearty lunch and relaxed ourselves for an hour while in the field we studied the poison ivy and wrote eions of the bed straw or galius gimson weed wild gourd and all sorts of insects we continued our journey around the south point of the black hill up bv alie old powder house and in to town altogether we spent an enjoyable time and were none the worse for our long walk KATHERINE mura ath grade student |
