Show i S washington relief society celebrates washington march 22 A splendid time was had biere by all on the of march tho relief society anniversary the silver band serenaded the town at t meeting was held in the R S hall to which all tho ladies and the bishopric were invited A very nice program was rendered in the evening a dance was given in the larson hall about eleven tho dancers enjoyed the delicious refreshments which the committee had prepared the question that the american cu lonies were justified in obtaining their independence was debated by students of the seventh grade in the school building friday evening the room was beautifully decorated with red white and blue red and white and a profusion of spring flowers each side had a nice flag and a pretty banner the girls on the affirmative were dressed in red white and blue the negative in white with red banners each side did excellent work the negative were winners by two points friday evening the pupils of miss alice Pax mans grade had a little party at her home games music etc were enjoyed by both teacher and pupils after which refreshments were served the grade gave their teacher a handsome pair of statues a half dozen dainty handkerchiefs and a beautiful collar the many friends of mrs aaltio grace will be pleased to hear that her husband who has been very sick at san francisco is much improved tho office of the new school building is very nicely furnished and is used by the parents class of tho sunday school for their class dvork stake S S officers aco E miles lena nelson and thomas cottam were visitors at our sunday school and meeting sunday mr and mrs joseph and miss hazel BI azzard left last week for idaho the latter to spend the summer with relatives the school observed arbor day friday the ground was laid off and planted out to numerous and various shrubs and trees L westover and family formerly of this place have leffa their home in colorado and at present are settled in cache co tha water ditches of ohp town are now in excellent condition as a birge force of men spent all last week on them hebar barron returned today from a gnp to pinto where he went to see his mother who was ill enss cooper and miss florence avirett were married tuesday the by bishop calvin hall miss iva avirett who lias been relatives at cedar the past winter has returned home miss mary platt of pinto was in town sunday visiting old friends born to mr and mrs a a boy barcli 12 |
