Show MESQUITE, Nev. Mrs. Daisy L. Reber Reporter A wedding dance was held in honor of Pvt. and Mrs. Lynn Leavitt on Monday, April 23. The bride is the former Eloise Leavitt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Heber Leavitt and the groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Leavitt. They were married Friday in the St. George Temple. A Father's and Sons banquet was held here Saturday night with 110 fathers and sons from both Bunkerville and Mesquite participating. Elmer Hughes was chairman for the evening and Leland Lamoreaux acted as toast-master toast-master and also gave demonstrations demonstra-tions of correct scouting. A court of honor was held after the banquet ban-quet with several boys receiving advancements. The mothers of the scouts and scouters in Mesquite Mes-quite cooked and served the banquet. Edward Leavitt S2c, who has been overseas for some time, is i visiting with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Parley Leavitt. Pvt. and Mrs. LaMar Hardy are visiting here with Mrs. Hardy's parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Harper. Roland Reber S2c arrived here Saturday for a five-day leave with his mother, Mrs. Arthur Reber, from a rest camp at Yosemite Park where he is convalescing from an operation. Mr. and Mrs. Dee Houston and son, Florian attended the funeral for Jack White, their nephew, in Las Vegas on Sunday. |
