Show TOQUERVILLE Mrs. Rowena W. Slack Reporter Mr. and Mrs. Claud Parkinson -entertained Thursday night at a party for Pvt. Warren Parkinson, who was here on a furlough from Fort Benning, Ga. He is in the infantry and left Saturday for his camp, after' visiting a week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Parkinson of Pintura. Thursday evening, Mr. Webb and Miss Ruby Savage presented their school in a play, "Mulligan's Magic". This was a comedy and was well presented and showed that the teachers had put in lots of work with the students. A military dance and ballet dance were given between the acts. Mr. and Mrs. Brent Bauer and Dick Olds of Cedar City spent Sunday at the home of their parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Olds. Strawberry picking is in full swing. The schools are cooperating cooper-ating with the growers and school starts at noon every other day. Walter Anderson and Mrs. Elsie Decker of Salt Lake City spent Sunday and Monday here. They brought their mother, Mrs. E. A. Anderson from St. George, where she has been the past two months at the home of her son, Hans Anderson. Miss Blanche M. Lamb gave a talk over KSUB Tuesday afternoon after-noon on the accomplishments of the adult blind projects. She is the adult teacher for the southern Utah counties. Rev. and Mrs. Charles H. Hamilton Ham-ilton and Mrs. Sadie Armstrong visited Tuesday at Zion Park. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Abbott left Saturday for Mesquite, where Mr. Abbott will be inducted into the Army. Mrs. Abbott will return here to stay with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Wallace. Mrs. Reta Morris was taken to the Iron county hospital Tuesday. She has had a relapse from the flu. Mrs. A. C. Newell rturned on Tuesday from Los Angeles, where she has been for the past month. Mrs. Tony Aguire. was brought home from the Iron county hospital hos-pital Monday, where she had undergone un-dergone an appendectomy. Mrs. Rhea Wakeling came from Cedar City Saturday to visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. T. Higbee. Mrs. F. B. Jackson of St. George spent the week end here with her husband. |
