Show TOQUERYILLE Mrs. Rowena W. Slack Reporter Mr. and Mrs. Tony Aguire and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Bringhurst left Monday for a ten day trip through Utah, Idaho and Colorado. Ivan Bringhurst returned Sunday Sun-day from Colorado Springs, where he has been employed the past two months. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. T. Higbee, Sunday, were Mr. and Mrs. Clair Higbee and children and Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Wen-dell Wakeling, all of Cedar City. Miss Verilyn Wallace returned Friday from Ogden, where she has been working at the U S N Depot during the summer. She will attend at-tend the B A C, Cedar City, on a scholarship given her at the Hurricane Hur-ricane High School. Mrs. Andrew Olds returned on Monday from Cedar City where she has been taking treatment. Mr. ana Mrs. t. A. Jackson lett Monday for Salt Lake City' to visit their daughter, Mrs. Corris Lody, who is seriously ill following follow-ing surgery. t Harry Slack left Monday for Salt Lake City where he will receive re-ceive medical attention. Pfc. Lewis Fish has been sent to Honshu, 36 miles from Tokyo, with the army of occupation. Ben Slack, ARM 2c, has recovered recov-ered from knee cap injuries and returned to his military unit. Miss Dixie Kleinman returned Sunday to Salt Lake City to resume re-sume her studies at the U of U. The ward MIA held its opening open-ing social Tuesday. Mrs. Wilmer Anderson is president of young women and LeGrande Spillsbury of the young men. George H. Slack was promoted July 20 to rank of Sergeant. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Beatty returned re-turned last week from visiting their son, Seaman Park Beatty, in San Diego. Mrs. LeRoy' Stapley entertained the Ladies'. S'ewihg Club at her home last Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. Arch Bringhurst and Mrs. La Veil Sylvester entertained their Sunday school classes at a melon feed Friday evening at the Sylvester Sylves-ter home in Pintura. Awards were given to Neil Theobald, Melvin Fish and Artis Kleinman. Sergeants Clarence and Evan Theobald are enroute home from military service. Clarence will be discharged and -.Evan will have a 30-day furlough following his service ser-vice in Europe. Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Wallace are awaiting arrival of their son, Virgil, Vir-gil, who is securing his discharge after service at Okinawa. Miss Geraldine Bringhurst returned re-turned Friday from Hill Field where she has spent the summer. Mr. and Mrs. M. V. Lamb and daughters, Blanche and Genevieve, left Tuesday for Salt Lake City, where Blanche will attend school. |
