Show 'March Of Dimes' Gets Under Vay . Sunday, January 14 : Schools, Chilis Business I'nile To Kaise' Washington County Quota Once again the National Foundation Founda-tion of Infantile Paralysis has launched the "March of Dimes" in the interest of combating the "National Crippler," infantile paralysis, par-alysis, and Washington county is organized to raise its quota which is approximately ten cents per capita for every man, woman and child in every town. The campaign cam-paign runs from Sunday, Jan. 11, to Wednesday, Jan. 31. Records prove there is no way of determining when or where this dread disease may strike, but it is no longer a hopeless situation l for those who are stricken, al-through al-through the burden of expense for the care and cure of its victims is almost more than families gen- ; orally can carry, unaided. This "March of Dimes" therefore, provides pro-vides the necessary funds with which every community may participate par-ticipate in the war being waged constantly against this deadly enemy. To raise the quota for this county, the committee is arranging arrang-ing to place campaign boxes in all business houses. Basket ball games and dances are being scheduled for St. George. Hurricane Hurri-cane and Enterprise and students in every school will be asked to contribute a dime each. Business houses are also cooperating in advertising the drive and encouraging encour-aging the all out support and cooperation of every citizen. This campaign is hailed as another opportunity op-portunity for Washington county to help with the aleviation of human suffering and with the cases in the county that have shared and will continue to share in benefits derived. The committee com-mittee anticipates hearty cooperation. |
