Show SPRINGDALE Mrs. Nancy Crawford Reporter Mrs. Eliza Crawford received word from her son, Norman, that he hopes to be coming home in a few months. He has been in Africa and Italy for over two years. Her grandson, Howard Ruesch, who is in the Philippines was recently promoted to staff sergeant. Lora C. Wright returned to Salt Lake City where she has been employed for some time. Her husband, Thayne Wright Ph M2c of the Naval Reserve has been in Kodiak, Alaska for about 14 months and she is staying with her mother, Mrs. Lora Christen-sen Christen-sen during his absence. The 4th of July was celebrated jointly by Rockville and Spring-dale Spring-dale in Zion National Park. A program and sports were the main features of the day. Gerald Gifford, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kendall Gifford, who was seriously wounded in Germany is on his way home from Europe, according to his latest letter. He says he will be glad to get back to Southern Utah. Mr. and Mrs. Duayne Davis and daughter, Beverly are here for a few days, visiting with Mrs. Davis' parents, Mr. and Mrs. John R. Crawford. Mr. Davis is on furlough from Fort Sill, Okla. Mrs. Davis plans to return with him after his furlough. Pvt. Wesley Hardy, who has been stationed in Caserta, Italy for some time, has recently been transferred to Bologna, Italy. Kent Justet has returned from Europe, and will remain here for a short time before reporting for duty in the Pacific area. Freeborn Gifford has been visiting visit-ing with his family for the past few days. He is employed in : v Nevada. 'U.
