Show BUNKERYILLE, Nev. Mrs. Mary H. Leavitt Reporter An appropiate program was given in church on Sunday, sponsored by the Relief Society in honor of Father's Day. Ardyee B. Hardy, president, was in charge with Counselor Ellen Hafen conducting. Tributes to fathers were given by Mrs. Naomi Hardy and Mrs. Agnes Leavitt. The music numbers num-bers included two selections by the singing mothers of the ward, and a vocal duet, "Dear Old Dad", by Erma and Ethel Leavitt. E. W. Leavitt of the bishopric gave the response. A family social and dinner was held last Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Leavitt. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Harold Leavitt and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Leavitt of Las Vegas; Mr. and Mrs. Moroni White and Mr. and Mrs. Alva Hunt of Bunkerville; Mr. and Mrs. Steward Pulsipher of Mesquite and Mrs. Luella Leavitt. Leav-itt. The event was set to honor Jack Leavitt, who leaves for military mili-tary induction June 27th. Another An-other son, Reed Leavitt, is serving overseas. Norman Shurtliff of Overton was here Sunday in the interest of the High Priest quorum. J. M. Stewart is here for the week tuning pianos. Eddie Davis is home on furlough fur-lough with his family. His wife is the former Maida Brown. Mrs. Mary A. Hafen spent the past week in Mesquite visiting her two daughters, Mrs. Parley Leavitt Leav-itt and Mrs. Edgar Leavitt. Mrs. Luella Leavitt spent the week in Mesquite with her daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Arthur Hughes. Mrs. James S. Abbott is in Mesquite with her husband who is seriously ill in the hospital. His two sons, Leslie and Ivan Abbott visited with him Sunday. Mrs. Hazel Hulihan of Las Vegas spent the past few days with her mother, Mrs. Ellen Hafen, returning home Monday. Mrs. Rose Huntsman has gone to Oceanside, 'Calif., to join her husband who is serving with the Marines. Word was received . recently of the birth of a son to Mr. and Mrs. Neil Leavitt at Meridian, Ida., where the mother, the former for-mer Pauline Leavitt is living with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Randy Leavitt while her husband is in military service. The father, accompanied ac-companied by his sister, Marian Leavitt left for Idaho last Friday on receipt of the news. Mr. and Mrs. M. White and family of Blue Diamond are here to make their home, having purchased pur-chased the home of Mr. and Mrs. Denzil Waite before they moved to Idaho. |
