Show Large Audience Hears Dixie Male Quartet "One of the finest programs of the season" was the acclaim given Mrs. Mae Pace and her Pixie Male Quartet, following their concert con-cert in the stake tabernacle Sunday Sun-day evening. May 6. The building was crowded for the performance and the audience thoroughly appreciated ap-preciated the entire entertainment. The quartets were grouped in four phases of old favorites, the light and humorous, old southern melodies, love songs and patriotic numbers. These were intersperced I w ith harmonizing banjo numbers by Ray Whipple, a reading "Jim" and vocal solo. "Rocked in the Cradleof the Peep" by the basso. Grant Harris, and special numbers by Marion Howler and Vernon! Worthen. At the conclusion of the pn- ! gram the group of local artists! with their partners were entertained enter-tained at a steak dinner at Pick's cafe, sponsored by representatives' of local civic groups. After the ' dinner, the party held an im- J promptu program at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter C. I'ace. Mrs. Pace and the quartet ex-1 press appreciation for trie welcome given them by the large audience ; at the concert and for the later entertainment. I |
