Show HURRICANE Mrs. Thomas Ilinton (AUNT MINA) Reporter Mrs. Grant Wright and Mrs. Georgia Taylor entertained the Rook club Saturday night at the Wright home honoring Clifton Wilson, who is being inducted into the army, also welcomirfg home Leo Reeve and Carlyle Sullivan, Sul-livan, who have been in the army. The Sterling Russell Post No. 100 sponsored a farewell party Tuesday night for the following boys who left Wednesday for Ft. Douglas: George Imlay, Clifton Wilson, Don Hutchins, LaMar Spendlove, Kenneth Stratton and Elwood Campbell. The Ladies Literary club met at Mrs. Eva Stratton's home on Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Augusta Wood reviewed "The Robe." Mr. and Mrs. Ben Lee entertained entertain-ed a number of friends at their home Sunday night at a turkey dinner. Carlon and Alta Hinton, brother and sister of Pvt. Marion Hinton, have returned to their employment employ-ment again after' attending the memorial services for Pvt. Hinton. Miss Hinton is employed at the U. P. bus station in Salt Lake City and Carlon Hinton farms 80 acres of land at Litchfield Park, Arizona. In last week's County News it stated that Pvt. Marion Hinton had one sister. Two sisters survive sur-vive him. they are Miss Alta Hinton Hin-ton of Salt Lake City and Miss Lenna May Hinton of Hurricane. Mr. and Mrs. LaVar Hinton spent Sunday in Fredonia visiting with Mrs. Marion Hinton. Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Wilson have gone to Salt Lake City where they will remain until he is sent out from Ft. Douglas. Kenneth Jones of LaVerkin is working in Keith Tobler's barber shop. Lucille Russell has gone to Phoenix to work. She has been employed in the Graff Mercantile. Pres. Elmer Graff, Carol Hea-ton, Hea-ton, Rodney Stanworth and Mayor Chauncey Sandberg left Thursday to attend the general conference in Salt Lake City. They returned Sunday night. Mrs. Fannie Sanders and daughter, daugh-ter, Vaun have returned from an extended trip. Thoy went first to Salinas. Calif., then to Phoenix, Arizona, then to San Antonio, Texas and home by way of Salt Lake City. They visited all of Mrs. Sanders' daughters and report re-port having had a very enjoyable time. The North and South ward Primaries held their annual ward conferences in their respective wards Sunday night. Very good programs were rendered and large crowds attended loth meetings. Mrs. Allie Hirschi has gone to Salt Lake City to a bone specialist. Mrs Rhea Storm of Salt Lake City and W. D. Sullivan, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Leland Sullivan of Leeds visited over Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. William E. Woodbury. Mr. and Mrs. Vere Wilson visited visit-ed here over the week end. They have bought a home in Vernal and intend to make their home there. Hurricane Servlreiwn New Cpl. Orvil Isom, son of Thomas Isom is home on furlough. He left home in December, in 13. training first at San Diego, Calif. and going overseas in August, 1011, as a Classification .specialist. His job was with the by-passed Japs. He was advanced from Classification specialist to Combat Intelligence. lie was stationed in the So. Central Pacific, but has been recommended for n commission commis-sion so he has been called back to the United States to attend an officers school in Quant ico, Va. He is in the Marine corps. T5 Lyle Gibson is home on n ten-dav furlough from Camp Gru-ber, Gru-ber, Okla. " F 3 TSgt. Calvin I'.allard sent a cablegram from England dated March 2."!, telling his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey I'.allard lie had completed his missions and would be seeing them soon. Pvt. Que liVadshaw spent Sunday Sun-day here wilh relatives. lit? addressed ad-dressed the South ward Sunday school in their general assembly. Cpl. and Mrs. LaVar Hinton and son, Jimmie, are here on furlough from Langley Field, Va. They are spending one week here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Maurice Ilinton and their many friends and will spend one week visiting in Salt. Lake City and Ogden wilh Mrs. Ilinton's family. Cpl. Ilinton is in firmament work loading bombs and taking care of machine guns. He does army duly on two H-17's which have been assigned to him. (.'lair Kendel SIc from San Diego, Calif.
