Show DLXIE FOREST LURES SUMMER HOME HUNTERS The closing months of the war witnessed a boom in applications from citizens for sites upon which to build summer homes on the Dixie National forest, it was reported re-ported Monday by Albert Albert-son, Albert-son, supervisor. One of the chosen areas is near the south shore of beautiful Navajo Lake, a most important link in southern Utah's long chain of renowned scenic attractions. Twenty-five applicants have oversubscribed over-subscribed the lots on the zone originally planned by the poorest Service for a summer home colony at this location. It was hrre the earliest inhabitants, inhabit-ants, the Indians, set up their skin tepees when on th;ir annual fishing fish-ing trips. The charm of Navajo then dimly realized is more fully presented in these modern times to allure hundreds of recreation-ists recreation-ists each year. Through the pines from the summer home site, the enchanting view of the lake formed form-ed one of the dominant scenes in the popular film of Universal Pictures which starred lovely Dcanna Durbin in "Can't Help Singing". Many film companies in recent years have pictured in technicolor the glorious scenes near Navajo. |
