Show Complete Two-Day Program Outlined for Hurricane Peach Day Fights, Dances, Fruit, Parade and Rodeo Events Listed on Program HURRICANE, Utah Parades, Rodeo Queens, fruit displays, a lively fight card and snappy rodeo ro-deo events will be featured on the two days of Hurricane's 1945 Peach Day celebration. The peach crop is below normal, say the sponsors, but there will be plenty of fruit otherwise, and the events slated will provide two full days of entertainment, Aug. 24 and 25, with a big dance on the evening of Aug. 23 to set the program pro-gram in motion. Committees have been actively at work for the past month, lining up the livestock, the fights and general events. Three east-end county beauties are in the lineup for Rodeo Queen, including Alene Allen of Leeds; Leila Barber, Hurricane, Hur-ricane, and Dorothy McLeod of Rockville, the winner to be announced an-nounced at the opening of the rodeo. Sponsored annually by the Sterling Ster-ling Russell Post No. 100, the American Legion, the Hurricane Peach Day and Rodeo draws big crowds, and the 1945 event is I slated to be one of their outstanding outstand-ing entertainments. Some of the best livestock available is lined up and the program generally is well under way, states Homer Engle-stead, Engle-stead, general chairman. |
