Show Cedar City Plays Host To F. B. I. Meet; Jay C. Newman To Speak Sheriff Sherman C. Lamb of Iron county received word today from Jay C. Newman, special agent in charge of the Salt Lake City division di-vision of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, concerning the program pro-gram of the F. B. I. Quarterly conference to be held at the Leigh hotel in Cedar City, on June 9th. The opening session, which convenes con-venes at 1:30 p.m., -is open to the public, and will feature an address by Rueben J. Shay, county attorney at-torney for Iron county. Sheriff Lamb and Chief of Police Arthur Nelson will also participate in the opening session of the conference. Motion pictures depicting situations situa-tions arising under present war time emergencies will be shown. Law enforcement officers from Washington, Iron and Kane counties coun-ties will be in attendance The closing session of the conference, con-ference, open only to law enforcement en-forcement officers, will commence at 3:15 p. m., and will feature a discussion of new provisions concerning con-cerning enemy alien matters. Mr. NewTnan, who will be in charge of the conference, said that law enforcement officers are daily confronted con-fronted with problems that arise out of the control of the enemy alien, and the discussion concerning concern-ing this phase of the conference will be of the utmost importance. Sheriff Antone B. Prince of Washington county will tnlk about "Some Interesting Observations In Burglary Cases". A feature of this session will be a practice fire arms demonstration by F.B.I. Special Agent Kugene Jones. Commenting Com-menting on the importance of F.B.I, police conference, particularly particu-larly at this time, Mr. Newman pointed out that (luring the first '(iiarter of 1912. from Jan. 1st to Mar. 31st. 321 police conferences were herl throughout the T'niter Slates, with lT).f)r,2 police officers representing 7,512 pr,'ice agencies in attendance.
