Show Pvt. Darwin Reber, who is located lo-cated at Burning, Nebraska returned re-turned to his post, on Monday morning following a short furlough fur-lough here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Reber. Also home over the Thanksgiving week end were their daughters, Miss Lois Reber of Ontario, Calif, and Miss Roma Reber who is teaching school in Tooele. Dr. and Mrs. P. E. Harris were surprised Tuesday with the arrival arri-val of Mrs. Harris' brother, John Aaron, from Tulsa, Oklahoma, for an extended visit. He will also visit with Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Frehner in Littlefield. The South ward M-Men and Gleaners held their fireside chat Sunday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Stratton. Following the program, light refreshments re-freshments were served. Mrs. Ethella Avery and daughter daugh-ter were here from Kanosh over the week end visiting relatives. They plan to return later to make their home in St. George. Mr. and Mrs. Ezra C. Thompson and two children, who have made their home in Cedar City for the past several years, are returning this week to occupy their home in St. George for the winter and perhaps longer. Mrs. Robert Worthen, Mrs. Edward Ed-ward Prisbrey and Mrs. George Logan united as hostesses at the Logan home Monday evening in entertaining the officers and teachers of the South ward primary. pri-mary. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Cannon, son Clive and daughter, Joan, visited relatives and friends in St. George last week enroute home to Santa Monica after spending a week in Cedar City with Mrs. Cannon's relatives. Friends of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Crosby met at the Crosby home last Saturday evening to surprise Mrs. Crosby with a birthday anniversary an-niversary party. . Seven couples joined in the games after which lunch was served. Among those attending the Adult Leadership school at Logan this week from St. George are County Agent Anson B. Call Jr., Mr. and Mrs. LeGrande Spilsbury and Mrs. J. T. Atkin Jr. Julius Wittwer of Santa Clara is also attending. Mr. Call will attend the conference of County Agents while he is away. Mr. and Mrs. Rudger McArthur returned from Salt Lake City to make their home in St. George. Mr. and Mrs. Owen Tobler and family were moving to St. George last week from Overton when their truck took fire, burning all of their furniture and belongings. They arrived Saturday to spend the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Lenzi Sullivan, brother-in-law and sister of Mr. Tobler. Due to leave this week for military service, he has been given a month's deferment defer-ment to allow him to re-establish his family. |
