Show Navy Officers Report Many Enlistments Six enlistments of Washington county boys are reported by the Cedar City Navy Recruiting office. of-fice. Those reported are as follows: William Kay Empey, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. B. H. Empey; Edward Ed-ward Pritchard Cottam, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Cottam; Alvin L. Iverson, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. V. M. Iverson; Alma Kent Bentley, 20, husband of Mrs. Maxine N. Bentley, all of St. George. Seymour Herman Schmutz, 18, son of Herman Schmutz; Max Prince Prisbrey, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. II. W. Prisbrey, both of Washington. The U. S. Naval Training station sta-tion at Farragut, Ida., reports that Jay Peter Neilson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter I. Neilson of Washington, reported there for duty on Nov. 30. For the next several weeks he will receive his recruit training, learning the fundamentals of seamanship sea-manship and undergoing intensive physical hardening. After graduation gradu-ation he will be a full-fledged bluejacket and will be assigned to a Navy service school for training in a technical field or transferred to duty with the fleet. Irvin Pace, son of Mr. and Mrs. I. W. Pace, enlisted in the Navy a short time ago. He will leave Dec. 9th for active duly in Uie service. |
