Show Lieut. Mecham Marries Miss Jean Stuart At Ceremony in Alexandria, Ya. Friends in St. George were advised ad-vised by letters over the week end from Mrs. Fenton Mecham of Salt Lake City, of the marriage of their son, Lieut. Joseph Stanley Stan-ley Mecham to Miss Jean Evelyn Stuart, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard E. Stuart of Alexandria, Va. The couple were married Saturday, Oct. 17, at the home of the bride's parents, '. . The bride attended St. Mary's Catholic academy in Alexandria, and was graduated from George Washington high school. She also completed business courses at Strayner college in Washington and was employed as secretary to the Virginia Meter supervisor until un-til the date of her marrage. Lieut. Mecham graduated from the Woodward high school and was attending the Dixie junior college when the St. George unit of the National Guard was called into service as the 115th Engineers. Engi-neers. After training at Camp San Luis Obispo, his tranfers in the service found him among those selected for special Officers' Candidate training at Fort Bel-voir, Bel-voir, Va. Upon his graduation he was commissioned in the emergency emerg-ency force, and has been stationed sta-tioned at Camp Holabird, near Baltimore, Md. He has since been transferred to the Medical Replacement Re-placement training center at Camp Pickett, near Blackstone, Va. A telegram from the couple announced their arrival Oct. 18, at Camp Pickett, where they will reside for the present. |
