Show Dixie-BAC Football Classic To Be Held At Cedar Sat. Six-Man Game Between Cedar-Dixie Also To Be Played On Friday Dixie is to meet the B .A. C. That is the statement that makes the inhabitants of southern Utah forget their troubles, and even war and politics. It is a local battle of nerves as well as physical physi-cal and mental prowess. It is a conference football contest; it is the battle for the axe. The big contest is to be staged in Cedar City Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. High Also Plays Cedar Of only slightly lesser interest is another Cedar-Dixie rivalry, the six-man contest to be held on the local field Friday at 3 o'clock. This game will be of special spe-cial interest because it is the last high school game of the season sea-son here. The Flyers , have won two of four in the high school league and are intrenched in third place. After getting off to a poor start, they won their last two contests, defeating Beaver last Friday 28-18 28-18 and displacing that team from third position. Cedar City has a powerful team that promises plenty of action for the locals tomorrow. If the visitors win they will take the third spot; if the Flyers come out on top they will fight the following follow-ing week for a chance at second place. In the college contest the dope all favors the Aggies, this because of the fact they recently trounced the Mesa team 33-0, while Dixie was succumbing to Carbon 18-0. Carbon had previously downed Mesa by a slight margin of 13-7. Too, the Dixie team has been crippled by the loss of some strong backfield men. Real Tussle Promised However, anything can happen in a Dixie-B. A. C. game,- and the (Continued on page eight) Dixie-BAC Football (Continued from first page) fans can look forward to a real tussle. Dixie will meet the Aggies here in a non-conference game on November No-vember 20th. The Flyers travel to Weber Nov. 14 for their only other league contest. Hurricane took undisputed possession pos-session of first place in the high school division Friday, when they downed Parowan 57-25 at Hurricane. Hurri-cane. Milford trounced Hinckley 39-0 the same day on the Mil-ford Mil-ford field. |
