The recent fatality in this city from malignant diphtheria brings to the minds of many of the older-citizens older-citizens the epidemics of this dread disease which visited St. George and vicinity in early years of Dixie, when nearly every home was under quarantine and many lives were lost, especially among young children. With modern knowledge and practices in combatting com-batting this contageon, it is stated that the risk of a city epidemic-may epidemic-may be controlled, but the complete com-plete cooperation of every family with children is essential. It is in this interest that the Child Welfare Wel-fare program is inaugurated and carried on. Immunization and physical examinations are available avail-able free of charge.
