Show Reappointment of John T. Beatty For SCS District Announced John T. Beatty, prominent Toquerville farmer, was reappointed reappoint-ed and sworn in as a supervisor of the Soil Conservation district at a meeting of the board, in Toquerville Friday evening. The entire board was present and outlined the conservation work for the coming months. Melvin S. Hamilton and Alfred H. Bateman represented the Soil Conservation service. The Farmer District agreement agree-ment between the district and lands owned by Archie Bringhurst and L. C. Pendelton was approved by the supervisors. This work will consist of bank protection along Ash Creek, soil saving dikes to prevent waste irrigation water from cutting back into farm land, and tree planting for permanent vegetative control of stream banks. The board voted to act as a group in setting up or applying better land use practices and the planning of farms for erosion control. All future conservation work on the LaVerkin-Ash Creek district will be done through the Board of Supervisors, and they will determine the priority of work "on the various agreements.
