Show St. George Lions Given Boost For Fine Helldorado Representation The St. George Lions made a real showing over last week-end at the Las Vegas Helldorado, state many of the 110 people who were St. George visitors for the four days. The 32 Lions and ladies who rode their own mounts in the parade were warmly parised by Governor E. P. Carvile, who thanked the people from St. George for thehr friendly cooperation. Chosen as one of the attendants for the Helldorado queen, Mrs-Dick Mrs-Dick Hammer was praised by officials of-ficials for her expert horsemanship. horseman-ship. Tex Ritter, author of many of the popular cowboy songs, among them, the well know "Strawberry Roan", especially complimented Dixie's official attendant. Mrs. Hammer has a roan mount with white stockings and they made a fine picture in the parade, as did i the entire party of Lions and j their ladies -from St. George and ' elsewhere. j This fine cooperation between ! Las Vegas and St. George for ! these events is receiving recogni-' recogni-' tion by visitors to the September j Rodeo and the Helldorado and the ; spirit of comradship built up will mean much to both communities, say those participating. |
