Show Fourth of July Program Holds Interest Of Adults And Children The Annual Fourth of July program pro-gram got underway this morning with the salute at daybreak. Following Fol-lowing this the martial band presented pre-sented numbers throughout the town and later played in the business busi-ness district. The program was under the direction of the American Ameri-can Legion and Auxiliary with the main program being presented present-ed in the Wadswoi'il; Theatre at. ! 9 a.m. The program at the Wadsworth was as follows: Music by the Martial Band. Invocation. i.aaies- Trio We ll Never Let Our Old Flag Fall". Solo, "The Story of Old Glory", Mrs. Mamie Paxman. Pledging allegiance to the flag. Solo, "The Old Flag", Mrs. Mamie Paxman. Address, Howard Cannon. Saxophone Number. Vocal solo, "The Sword of Bunker Hill", D. M. Snow. Congregational singing, "T h e Star Spangled Banner". Sports ProgTam Sports for t'he children was the main feature of the day sponsored by the American Legion. This took place on Tabernacle street with all types of races being featured. fea-tured. Prizes were offered winners win-ners of the various events with plenty of interest being taken by the youngsters. This evening the American Legion will sponsor their annual Fourth of July dance in the Recreation Rec-reation Open-Air Pavilion. Every effort is being made to make this one of the big dances of the summer sum-mer months. Funds derived from the dance will be used to help pay for the prizes given to the children and other expenses in connection with the day's program. pro-gram. The support of the public is urged. |
