Show Mrs. Marie Stanworth Elected P.-T.A. President Mrs. Marie Stanworth was elected president of the Hurricane-La-Verkin P.-T.A. Monday night at. the regular monthly meeting in the high school gym. Vernon Church, outgoing president, conducted con-ducted the election. Mrs. Sanworth, who is well qualified for the position, is the mother of three children. One son is in the junior high and a daughter is in the Elementary Elemen-tary school. At one time co-proprietor co-proprietor of the Hurricane Cafe, Mrs. Stanworth received her commercial com-mercial education at the B.Y.U. At present she is employed in the Graff Mercantile, LaFell Iverson of LaVerkin, who is a teacher in the Elemen tary school, was elected vice-president, vice-president, with Mrs. Mildred E. Bliss as secretary-treasurer. Preceding the voting the following follow-ing program was given: Girls' vocal trio, sixth grade; piano solo, Beth Duncan; reading, Mrs. Camilla Judd; one-act play, "The Valiant", produced by the following follow-ing students: Navarre Millett, Mark Webb, Margaret Englestead, Que Bradshaw, Dan Conger and Justin Covington, under the direction of Miss Ruth Wall. Social dancing completed the evening. |
