Show Supervisor Eetenscn Explains Use of Funds P.ec'vd fr:m Forest Lands Each year there is an apportionment apportion-ment of ''." per cent of National forest receipts made to the states and counties by the Federal Government Gov-ernment for reads and schools. The fund received by the states is allotted to the counties based upon the acreage of National for- j est land within the counties. The division of the funds between schools and reads is iroverned by state statute. In Utah 50 per cent of the allot tment is made for road purposes and for t h e use of schools.. Supervisor Blaine Betenson of the Dixie National forest at Cedar City has furnished the following information regarding the amount of National forest acreage in the counties local to this part of the state, and the amounts paid thru the state by the Forest service to the different counties for fiscal year 19eo and cumulative since 1916. The final figures show the amounts paid to the state, also the listings of the southern counties: coun-ties: Net forest area (acreage.
