Show News of the Dixie) College CampusTeachers Pres. B. Glen Smith returned Monday from Salt Lake City where he had been on business incident in-cident to the Dixie college. Miss Emma Nielsen, instructor in home economics at the college, left Wednesday for Europe. She sailed from Montreal on the S. S. Empress of Australia. Before returning re-turning for duty September 1, she will visit France, Italy, Switzerland, Switzer-land, England, Germany, Belgium, and Holland. She will be in England Eng-land for the British Mission Centennial Cen-tennial celebration. A number of other Utah people are going on the trip which is under the auspices of Mrs. Vida Fox Clawson. Summer repair work at the college col-lege will begin next week. A number num-ber of miscellaneous changes for the improvement of conditions will (Cpntinued on page four) Dixie College Notes (Continued from first page) be made. Probably most important impor-tant of these will be the installation install-ation of a ventilation system in the auditorium. This was made possible thru the courtesy of the college graduating class of '3S. This class, under the leadership of Pres. Clell Covington, contributed seventy-five dollars this spring and will contribute con-tribute a like amount next year. The State is paying fifty dollars for installation. The work will be done by the Thompson Plumbing and Heating Co. President Smith is now beginning begin-ning work on the preparation of the catalogue for the next school year. It will be off the press sometime in July. The college year is scheduled to begin September Sep-tember 7. |
