Show ST. GEORGE CAMP Sunday, June 21, Captain Earl Jackson, Fort Douglas district InspfUor, made the regular monthly camp inspection. Company Com-pany 25 58 received a most favorable fav-orable comment from Captain Jackson. Our camp has held two splendid splen-did "All Camp Programs" within with-in the past three weeks. On each occasion the program was sponsored spon-sored by the "Leaders Club" of Company 2558. It has been the policy of the club to invite some talented person to participate in the program as a guest artist. On the first program Miss Cannon and Miss Schmutz were our guests. On the second program Miss Alien Worthen was ably assisted as-sisted by Miss Fordham. Mr. Vemion Worthen gave the fellows a very good talk on character building, punctuating his remarks with opportune and apt stories that accentuated his theme of character-building. It has been a genuine pleasure to receive these people into our camp to entertain and speak to us. The major part of the second program pro-gram was furnished by the camp Glee club, which is so capably coached by William Morris of St. George. Mr. Morris comes to our camp two nighte each week to lead the boys in glee club singing. Under the direction of Supt. D. M. Thompson, about fifty members mem-bers of Company 2558, aided by CCC men from Dove creek camp, east of Cedar City, Gunlock and the Leeds camp (the Leeds camp is a spike of the Cedar City CCC camp) were instrumental in conquering con-quering the forest fire in the Oak Grove area. |
